What is a vegetarian?
A vegetarian does not consume meat, fish or poultry. There are several subcategories of vegetarians.
- Lacto-Ovo Vegetarians will not eat meat, but they will consume eggs, dairy products, and honey.
- Lacto Vegetarians will not eat meat, fish, or eggs, but they will eat dairy products and honey.
- Ovo Vegetarians will not eat meat, fish, or dairy products but will consume eggs and honey.

What is a Vegan?
A vegan will eat nothing produced from the labor of animals. This includes meat, fish, eggs, dairy, and honey. Many will also avoid using or wearing products produced from the labor of animals such as wool, silk, or leather.
Are all of your products vegetarian?
Yes, we use no animal meat in any of the Rising Moon Organic products.
What is animal rennet?
Rennet is a natural complex of enzymes produced in any mammalian stomach. Most cheese production requires the enzyme rennet to coagulate milk into curd.
Do your products that have cheese in them contain rennet?
Yes, any of our products that contain cheese are made with animal rennet.

What sauces work best with my ravioli?
Our fresh pesto sauces work great with all of the raviolis, our favorite is the classic basil paired with garlic gorgonzola raviolis. For a jarred sauce pairing try Spinach Florentine Ravioli with Garlic and Merlot Sauce – Delicious!
What is Gnocchi?
Gnocchi is the Italian word for dumplings; in Italian, gnocchi is the plural of gnocco, which literally means "lump". They can be made of potato, semolina (durum wheat), flour, or ricotta cheese.
What is Primacotta™?
Primacotta™ is dairy-free soy ricotta made from organic soybeans, organic brown rice syrup, organic extra virgin olive oil, salt, organic herbs, magnesium chloride (a natural sea mineral), organic lemon juice concentrate and basil. Primacotta™ ricotta is heart-healthy because it’s made from soy and is 83% lower in saturated fat than dairy ricotta.
